Respondus is a test proctoring software tool.

Setting up your test in Moodle and enabling Respondus will lock down the students' browser during the test.  You can also have the students' computer/laptop webcam record their activity during the test.

Prior to taking the test, the system prompts the student to:

  • show their identification

  • take a picture (of the student)

  • show the environment where they are taking the test (room and desk scan) using their webcam
The system also does a Webcam check and a systems check (latency and bandwidth tests) before the test is started.

The student information is available to the faculty to view after the student completes the test in Moodle.  In addition to this information, the entire video of the student taking the test is also available to the faculty if the webcam option is selected.
